Binder Park – Battle Creek

In the 1971 AAA Michigan Winter Sports Fun List, published in The Cass City Chronicle on Dec. 10, 1970 placed Binder Park 5 mi south of Battle Creek on Beadle Lake Rd. It had one slope and a rope tow with skiing, tobogganing and hiking.

Today, Binder Park is the site of Battle Creek’s Binder Park Zoo.

If you have any information about skiing at Binder Park, please post it or send it to us via the directions on the About MILSAP page.

I’ve worked at Binder Park Zoo for the past two summers, and always thought it would be an awesome place for a small, local ski area. Pretty cool to find out that it actually used to be, I’ll have to ask my parents/grandparents if they have any information about this!
