An article in the Detroit Free Press on October 27, 1968 listed Russell’s Ridge as a new ski area slated to open for the 1968-69 ski season. They said it had a ski slope and 1 tow and was 5 mi. east of Hart on US-31. Andrew Horton asked about this area in a comment on our Facebook page and posted a picture of it there. Greg Bremmer said his dad used to stop the car there in 1970 to let Greg ride his bobsled down the road and said the ropes were not running that year. Tina Royce added that it sounds like the Northern Edge Rope Tow Park–we’ll have to look into that.
If you have any information about lift or tow served skiing at Russell’s Ridge, Please let us know via the directions on the About MILSAP page or leave a comment below.
