Some months ago, Karen Voike, a frequent correspondent from the west side of the state sent me some files from the archives of the student newspaper of Western Michigan University. They detailed the rise and demise of Western’s on-campus ski area. Unfortunately, after repeated attempts, I was unable to convert the files to a format I could post. She kindly transformed the files into jpg format and resent them. There WAS a ski slope at WMU that was served by a rope tow and operated each winter for about a decade, before making room for a construction project, and here is the documentary evidence:
