Adventure Mountain – Greenland

I found Adventure Mountain listed in the AAA Michigan 1975 and 1977 Winter Sports lists in the Cass City Chronicle on on Jan. 9, 1975 and Dec. 30, 1976. It had a rope tow and 3 slopes. Apparently the Mountain named Adventure was the site of the old Adventure Copper Mine in Greenland, near Ontonagan. Today there is an oval dirt track at the west side of the mountain called Adventure Mountain. Was the old ski hill across the street (Depot Street) ?

If you have any information about skiing at Adventure Mountain, plese post it or send it to us via the directions on the About MILSAP page.

One Response to Adventure Mountain – Greenland

  1. Rob Peters says:

Adventure mountain no longer has a tow rope but is still open for skiing. It is located at the southern end of Depot St near the chalet. The hill is 350′ vertical feet and also has XC and downhill mt bike trails in the summer. With over 250″ of annual snowfall it frequently has fresh powder.
