Lovells Winter Playland – Lovells

On Fri., Nov. 9, 1956, The Cass City Chronicle in the “Michigan Mirror” column listed Lovell’s as among the rapidly expanding ski areas of Michigan. Located on M-93, Lovells had ski runs and tows with a warming shelter according to a Consumers Power brochure from around 1959.

About a half mi. north of Lovells on Twin Bridge Rd., Ski Hill Rd. branches off to the west. It runs up to the small ridge that runs NNW on the west side of the river and follows the ridge for a mile or more before becoming Jack Pine Tr. I cannot see any remnants of trails on the satellite perhaps because the whole area seems to have been clear cut.

If you have any information about skiing at Lovells, please post it or send it to us via the directions on the About MILSAP page.
